Obituary

Manning died peacefully with his wife by his side from a traumatic brain injury and laid to rest with his ancestors in W. Springfield, MA.  As an organ donor, a part of him is now giving another Coloradan a new life.

Manning left Western New England University with a BS EE and a loving wife who shared many crazy, wonderful times.  Manning's varied career ended with software engineering and his most fulfilling position was writing software for heart monitors.  Manning was intelligent with great mechanical skills.  He always stayed current with maintenance often determining clever new ways to resolve issues.

Manning loved southeast CO.  He loved the climate, the prairie, the people; it all made him truly happy.  He was a friendly guy and enjoyed getting to know and joking with everyone.  He had the utmost respect for farmers and ranchers and enjoyed learning all aspects of the AG industry.

Cars were his passion.  He loved driving, racing, repairing, modifying and restoring all type of vehicles.  Always an engine guy, he went to school for welding and then painting at McPherson College.  This enabled him to fulfill his dream of restoring a '58 Chevy Apache on his own.  He then went on to build a street legal Camaro dragster and began restoring a '28 Buick.

Manning also cared for animals and enjoyed the wildlife of the woods and prairie. He was devoted to his pet dogs and donkeys, and his dog, Ari, was his dear buddy.

Manning leaves his partner and wife of over 40 years, Angela (Hutchins), Fowler, CO.  He is survived by his parents Martin and Ellen Gordon, W. Palm Beach, FL, his sister, Michelle and her husband Tom Bruno and their sons, Little Silver, NJ, along with many loving in-laws in Connecticut.

In remembrance of Manning's life, memorial donations may be made to Baypath Humane Society https://baypathhumane.org/support-us/ or the McPherson College Automotive Restoration Program, Red Wrench Tool and Equipment Fund https://www.mcpherson.edu/autorestoration/support/
