Rocky Ford Council Member Arrested Following Violent Altercation at Goal Academy 

On May 6, 2025, at approximately 12:12 hours, the La Junta Police Department received a report of a fight in progress at the Goal Academy, located at 311 Santa Fe Avenue.

Officers arrived and observed that the altercation had ended, and all parties involved were still present on the scene.

Medical personnel arrived and assessed multiple people for injuries that were sustained during the altercation, which had taken place inside Goal Academy. Officers interviewed the parties involved.

There were conflicting accounts of what had occurred. Officers learned that Goal Academy did, in fact, have video cameras located inside.

Officers were advised that the video footage of the incident was not readily available for viewing, but that it would be provided later.

Officers seized a pair of gloves with hardened, non-metallic knuckles.

The parties involved were released and advised that, once the video footage was reviewed, they would be contacted for a follow-up investigation. Video footage was provided to Officers from Goal Academy regarding the altercation on May 6, 2025.

• Desiree Montano was arrested on the charges of Assault in the Second Degree, three counts of Assault in the Third Degree, and Interference with staff, faculty, or students of an educational institution and booked into the Otero County Detention Center.

• Satiah Myers was charged with Assault in the Third Degree and Interference with staff, faculty, or students of an educational institution.

• Michael Montano III was charged with three counts of Assault in the Third Degree, Interference with staff, faculty, or students of an educational institution, and Child Abuse.

*The charges are merely an accusation, and the suspects are innocent until or unless proven guilty*
