Statement from Legal council for Prowers County Coroner, Grata Law and Policy LLC.
After ten months and thousands of taxpayer dollars wasted on legal fees, Prowers County finally dropped its meritless lawsuit against Coroner Dunagan in which it accused him of misusing Coroner’s Office funds. This is a lawsuit that never should have been brought. Moving forward, we are hopeful that the Board of Commissioners will respect this position as an elected county official hired by the people to do a critical job for the people of Prowers County. Coroner Dunagan is going to do his level best day in and day out to have the Coroner’s Office function at its highest level, just as the people of Prowers County have a right to expect. Coroner Dunagan is inviting the Commissioners to work with him moving forward to achieve that vision for the Prowers County Coroner’s Office.
