Tragic Boating Accident at Lake Pueblo: Woman Dies After Propeller Injury, Investigation Underway

PUEBLO, Colo. – A 43-year old female was pronounced dead at Lake Pueblo State Park today following a tragic accident involving a powered watercraft and contact with the engine propeller.

The incident happened at approximately 4 p.m. today on the water near Denver Cove located mid-lake near the north shore.

Park Rangers and first responders were alerted by a 911 call and a Park Ranger patrol boat raced to escort the boat with the victim to the North Shore Marina where additional Park Rangers and Pueblo West Fire Fighters were waiting.

Fire fighters attempted life-saving measures before the Pueblo County Coroner pronounced the victim deceased at 5:14 p.m. Circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
