Obituary

In Loving Memory of George Martin Cahill.

We announce the passing of George Martin Cahill of La Junta, Colorado, who entered into rest in La Junta, Colorado, on September 12, 2025.

He was born on December 19, 1981, in Artesia, New Mexico.

At 43 years of age, George leaves behind a legacy marked by kindness and resilience. George faced many challenges in his short time with us but he always found a way to push on. He was a steadfast companion to his beloved dog, Tucker, whose loyalty reflected the gentle spirit with which he had. Anyone who knew George knew Tucker would not be far behind or in front of him. George was survived by daughters Cassie (Tyler) Cahill, of La Junta, Colorado, Emalie Cahill, of La Junta, Colorado, and son Luke Cahill, of Cheraw, Colorado, and a cherished grandfather to Easton, Paislee, Matti, Arlo, and Nayvi.

George was a sibling to Robert Cahill, of Las Animas, Colorado, Mark (Barbara) Cahill, of La Junta, Colorado and Ruth (Ralph) Cahill-Cabalar, of Denver, Colorado and an uncle to nieces and nephews Jorden, Hayden, Hunter, Zaquery, Isabel, Ava, and Amelia. He had various extended family and friends. Including the guys who he worked with at Lewis Nut & Bolt for many years.

George was a die hard San Francisco 49er fan and enjoyed riding motorcycles, four wheeling, mudding, and cars, especially old cars and trucks. He shared his passion of raising pythons with both of his daughters. In his younger years, he loved to fish. He loved cooking steaks especially for his family. The greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren and the times he spent with them.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gloria Cahill, and his grandparents, Ruth and Perry Gregory.
