Fort Lewis College Student Arrested for Alleged Criminal Solicitation for Homicide and Weapon Possession
February 2, 2026 – CBI – Durango, CO – The Fort Lewis College Police Department (FLCPD), in conjunction with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has arrested a 19-year-old Fort Lewis College student following an investigation into allegations of a plot to commit murder.
The Fort Lewis College Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the campus community related to this incident.
Jackson T. Keller, 19, a Fort Lewis College student was taken into custody on January 29, and booked into the La Plata County Jail. Keller faces the following felony charges:

Criminal Solicitation for First Degree Murder Homicide in the First degree (CRS 18-2-301)

Unlawful Possession of a Weapon on College Grounds (CRS 18-12-105.5)
The investigation began January 28, which uncovered evidence suggesting the suspect allegedly attempted to persuade two separate parties to commit the murder of a fellow student in exchange for a cash payment.
All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation is ongoing.
