Honoring a Lifetime of Care: About the Arkansas Valley Nurse Honor Guard’s Nightingale Tribute

The Arkansas Valley Nurse Honor Guard is a group of volunteer registered nurses dedicated to their profession, offering tribute to CNAs, LPNs, RNs, and Nurse Practitioners (NPs).

They give honor and perform The Nightingale Tribute during a nurse's funeral or a living tribute.

They present The Tribute, featuring RN volunteers wearing the nurse's signature cape, cap, and white uniform, holding a lit candle that represents the eternal light of service, compassion, and the nurse's commitment, while reciting The Nurses' Poem. A white rose will be presented, which represents sympathy, reverence and lasting love for the nurse.

The Arkansas Valley Nurse Honor Guard celebrates nurses' commitment in Bent, Crowley, and Otero Counties at no cost. It's their honor to recognize those who have dedicated their time and made sacrifices to support the nursing profession.
