A Mass of Christian burial for longtime Lamar resident Mary H. Sena will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Reverend Father Patrick Aina as celebrant. A rosary service will be held prior to the mass at 9:30AM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the St. Francis de Sales/ Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Deacon Allan Medina reciting. A rite of committal will follow at the Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation for Mary will be held from 1:00PM until 4:00PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the Peacock Family Chapel.

 

Obituary 

Mary was born on January 15, 1939 at Lamar, Colorado to Pedro and Margarita (Garcia) Hernandez and passed away on February 5, 2026 at the Memorial Central Hospital surrounded by her children, many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren at the age of 87.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sons Jesse and Joe Sena, grandchildren Damien Sena and Malissa Arguello and numerous siblings.

Mary is survived by her husband Ruben Hernandez, Sr. of the family home in Lamar, CO, children David (Deanna) Sena, Margie (Jaime) Sena-White, Alice (Larry) Sandoval and Ruben Hernandez, Jr. all of Lamar, CO, 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Mary Lou Gaitain of Greeley, CO and Inez Hernandez of Lamar, CO, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary Sena Memorial Fund in care of the Peacock Funeral Home office.
