La Junta Senior Golf League Celebrates Women Golfers During May 12 Scramble

Description: The La Junta Senior Golf League welcomed 47 golfers on May 12 for a scramble with extra-putt challenges and a Mother’s Day tribute, with two teams tying for first place at a score of 27.

The La Junta Senior Golf League welcomed 47 golfers on Tuesday, May 12, with a scramble format which included extra putts on every green. If any member of a team made the putt, the team could subtract one stroke from its score.

The day also featured two challenge chips on holes #3 and #9. Continuing the Mother's Day tribute, each woman was given two chances on each chip.  However, no one was able to make either of the chips; of course, one of the chips was under a tree!

Next week we will meet again on Tuesday May 19 for another round of golf. Registration will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with teams being picked at 9:45 a.m. No players can be added after this time. Play is scheduled to begin at approximately 10:00 a.m. Please call 719-469-0691 if you anticipate being late for registration but will be able to tee off on time.
