Pueblo Woman Arrested for Aggravated Robbery After Allegedly Pepper-Spraying Store Employees

On May 20, 2026, at approximately 7:17 p.m., Pueblo Police Department dispatch received a call for an armed robbery that occurred in the 1100 block of Bonforte Blvd.

It was reported that a woman pepper-sprayed employees after leaving a store with merchandise she had not paid for.

Officers located the suspect nearby, who was identified as 38-year-old Ilysia Chavez.

Chavez was arrested and is being charged with aggravated robbery.

All parties considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
