La Junta Children’s Theatre Brings “Winnie the Pooh” Musical to La Junta High School

Description: La Junta Children’s Theatre presents “Winnie the Pooh” June 18–20 at La Junta High School auditorium, featuring a lively young cast, music, and Hundred Acre Wood fun.

“Winnie the Pooh” is this year's La Junta Children's Theatre production, under the direction of Kelly Jo Smith and Kristin Golding as music director, with a dozen lively kids as the cast. They deliver their lines professionally, projecting them so well that they can be heard in the back of the auditorium. The action moves quickly as the actors walk, run, dance and swim all over the stage and beyond.

Stars include Audrey Belew as Winnie the Pooh, Farrah Borton as Christopher Robin, Adrianna Ayala as Rabbit, Rogue Hernandez as Eeyore, and Malia Romero as Tigger.

Vignettes familiar to Pooh fans include Pooh's attempt to reach the honeycomb, getting his head stuck in the “Hunny” bucket, and all the preparations for Owl's birthday party. This play is a musical, and singers belted out "Look for the Silver Lining" and "Yes, We Have No Bananas" as well as many Winnie the Pooh songs.

This wonderful production will be presented at La Junta High School auditorium (the Hundred Acre Wood) 1817 Smithland Avenue, at 7 p.m. June l8 through 20. Tickets are $5 for children 0 to 10, $10 for 11 and up.
