Obituary

Anna Harriet Perez, 92, entered peacefully into rest on June 16th, 2025 at Pioneer Nursing Center in Rocky Ford, Colorado.

Anna was born on May 22nd, 1933 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Andres and Tomasa Baca. She attended Rocky Ford High School and would then receive her LPN license at the Mennonite School of Nursing in La Junta in 1959. Upon completion of her license she started working as a nurse at many different facilities throughout the Arkansas Valley.

She was an active parishioner at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Rocky Ford. During her life she was a member of the Legion of Mary, St. Anthony’s Circle and the Cruciesta. While a member of the church she helped with many festivities including the crowning of the blessed mother and helped crown many bazaar queens.

She married her husband Phil Perez at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on November 23, 1977. They made their home in Rocky Ford.

Anna is survived her children: Dolores (Bill) Jackson, Tom Perez, Bob Perez, Larry Perez, Eddie Perez and Lizzy (Cal) Critchfield, Brother: Frank (Stella) Baca, Sister: Grace Martinez, Grandchildren: Michele (Benny) Aguilar, Nicholas (Diane) Bangan, Kyle (Lyssa) Newlin, Jannelle (Shelby) Dreier, as well as many other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents: Andres and Tomasa Baca, Husband: Phil Perez, Brothers: Louie Baca, Alfonso Baca, Patrick Baca, Augustine Baca, Sister: Estella Baca, Children: Phil Perez Jr, Andy Perez, Frankie Perez, Veronica (Rick) Newlin, Ron Bangan, Kathy Koocian & Joseph Bangan.

Rosary Service Held on Wednesday, June 25th, 2025 at 9:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rocky Ford, Colorado with Services to Follow. Bellwood Ustick Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
