Lamar Police Arrest Armed Theft Suspect at Walmart

On 06/18/2025 Lamar Police Officers responded to Walmart regarding a theft involving a male party still inside the store.

During the detention of the then, unidentified male, a handgun was involved concealed in a backpack.

A physical confrontation occurred and officers utilized non-lethal options to gain control of the suspect. The suspect was later identified as Jace Massar of Holly, and was found to have an active Prowers County Warrant for Domestic Violence.

Massar was held at the Prowers County Jail on the warrant and additional charges.

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
