Male visitor dies at John Martin Reservoir State Park
HASTY, Colo — A 33-year old male visitor was found non-responsive in the showers at John Martin Reservoir State Park at approximately 9 p.m. Saturday. The individual who discovered the man called 911 and started CPR.
A Colorado Parks and Wildlife Officer arrived within minutes and administered Narcan; a Bent County Deputy, Hasty McClave and Lamar firefighters and EMTs then arrived and continued life-sustaining measures before the Bent County Coroner was requested on-scene.
The coroner pronounced the visitor deceased at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
“CPW offers our condolences to the family and friends of the visitor, and to everyone involved in this tragic incident,” said Dan Kirmer, Park Manager.
