Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center Appoints New Interim CEO

La Junta, CO July 31, 2025-Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center (AVRMC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ronald E. (Ron) Hogan as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective 07/30/2025. Hogan brings a dynamic blend of clinical collaboration, financial leadership, and entrepreneurial innovation to the role-qualities that are especially timely as AVRMC works to address both operational performance and long-term sustainability.

"We are excited to welcome Ronald Hogan to lead AVRMC during this pivotal time," said Joe Pentlicki, Chair of the AVRMC Board of Directors. "His depth of experience, particularly in physician engagement, healthcare management, and program innovation, makes him exceptionally well-suited to guide our organization forward."

Hogan's career spans decades in healthcare leadership, where he has served in both CFO and COO roles across various systems. His expertise in healthcare finance, revenue cycle management, and strategic resource allocation has made him a trusted advisor in times of transition. His financial stewardship is expected to help address key concerns from both the community and local leadership about AVRMC's fiscal health and operational future.

In addition to his financial credentials, Hogan has a track record of advancing physician collaboration and community engagement. He played a key role in launching the first hospitalist program in Northeast Louisiana and has helped develop impactful clinical and operational initiatives across multiple health systems. His work in healthcare entrepreneurship and medical education includes playing a vital role in launching a new Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) site in partnership with an established DO school in North Louisiana-an initiative that strengthened workforce pipelines and improved regional access to care.

A former college athlete, Hogan brings a team-first mentality and high-performance mindset to his leadership style. His ability to build strong organizational cultures and drive sustainable growth has consistently led to measurable improvements in both care delivery and operational efficiency.

"I'm honored to join AVRMC and work alongside the dedicated staff, providers, and community leaders who are so vital to the healthcare infrastructure in the service area," said Hogan. "I look forward to supporting the hospital's mission while helping strengthen services, stabilize finances, and expand opportunities for growth."

The AVRMC Board of Directors is currently conducting a national search for a permanent CEO. Hogan has committed to an open-ended, extended engagement in the interim role to ensure continuity and strategic momentum during the transition.
