Obituary

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Friend, Judy Josephine Torres, a cherished member of the Kim, Colorado community, entered into rest, on December 26, 2025, in Pueblo, Colorado. She was born on December 29, 1954, in Trinidad, Colorado, Judy was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Martha Lujan. She was 70 years of age just missing her 71st birthday by just four days.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Filbert "Bert" Torres of Kim, Colorado; her children Robert Ryan (Lyra) Torres, of Lakewood, Colorado, Aaron (Sandra Lopez) Torres of Denver, Colorado, and Nathan Torres of Kim, Colorado; her stepdaughter, Jaci Maron-Torres. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Mariela, Ariana, Elias, Rafael, Emilia, Judy, Meghan, Austin, and Jaxon, brother, Jessie (Angie) Lujan of Pueblo, Colorado, sister’s Nancy Mungaray, of Pueblo, Colorado, and Jane Ramos of Pueblo, Colorado. Judy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Martha Lujan, brothers, Jerry Lujan, Andy Lujan, Benny Lujan, Michael Lujan, and Randy Lujan.

Judy’s love for Christmas was evident in her joy for decorating and creating a warm, festive home. She was a talented cook and baker, always sharing her delicious pies and cakes with friends and neighbors. Her passion for her children’s sports and activities was matched only by her unwavering support and love for her grandchildren. She loved her dog Sox. Judy’s family could always count on her to be their biggest cheerleader, teaching them the importance of hard work, perseverance, and standing up for one another.

Her beautiful singing voice filled her home, and she found joy in music and in watching her favorite soaps, lovingly referred to as her “stories.” Judy’s presence, kindness, and strength will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Rosary will be held at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass to honor Judy’s life on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Kim High School in Kim, Colorado. Followed by Committal Service at the Kim Cemetery and Reception at the Kim Highschool.
