State Investigators Release Update on Fatal Boone Home Explosion

UPDATE: HOME EXPLOSION IN BOONE

The preliminary cause of the January 8 home explosion on 57th Lane in Eastern Pueblo County is determined to have been likely caused by the installation of a water heater, according to the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control.

The DFPC said propane gas was present at the scene. Two people were killed in the explosion. 

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and a report on that investigation is expected to be completed by mid-February.
