Sugar City Structure Fire Prompts Response from Crowley County Fire Department

On 02/23/2026, Crowley County Fire Department was dispatched to an active structure fire in Sugar City.
Dispatch advised that the structure was non-occupied.
Upon arrival there was heavy fire coming from 75% of the structure.
A primary search was completed of structure, by Crowley County firefighters. Primary search came up negative.
Backside of the house had structural damage with roof and floor compromised.
The decision was made by fire chief to let the structure burn. Crews stayed on scene while the structure burned.
A brush truck was brought to the scene due to winds carrying embers into adjacent grass field.
Scene mop up was complete.
Fire crews cleared scene just before midnight.
