SCOTT BOTTOMS, TOP-LINE CANDIDATE FOR COLORADO GOVERNOR, THANKS GRASSROOTS ACTIVISTS FOR RECORD TURNOUT AND UNVEILS PLAN TO “RECLAIM COLORADO”
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., April 14, 2026 – State Representative Dr. Scott Bottoms, who secured the top line on the 2026 Republican gubernatorial primary ballot with 45% of the delegate vote, Bottoms thanked the thousands of grassroots Republicans who turned out in force at the Colorado GOP State Assembly in Pueblo on Saturday.
“Saturday was a historic day for Colorado conservatives,” said Bottoms. “The grassroots didn’t just show up, they roared. From Colorado Springs to the Eastern Plains and the Western Slope, everyday Coloradans stood together to say enough is enough. I am humbled and energized by your support, and I promise to fight every single day to Reclaim Colorado for all of us.”
Dr. Bottoms, a U.S. Navy veteran, Assemblies of God pastor, and father of three, has spent his career fighting for life, liberty, and limited government. As a sitting state representative from El Paso County, he has consistently opposed reckless spending, soft-on-crime policies, and government mandates that threaten families and freedoms.
He has participated in dozens of public candidate forums across Colorado, including multiple bipartisan forums that featured Democratic candidates. Bottoms emerged as the clear top-line winner in every single forum, often receiving support in the high 80s percentile, a powerful testament to the strength of his message and his broad appeal to Coloradans from all backgrounds.
He is now the undisputed top-line choice of Colorado Republicans heading into the June 30 primary.
“When I am elected Governor, we will Reclaim Colorado,” Bottoms declared. “We will restore parental rights and school choice so families, not bureaucrats, decide what our children learn. We will Reclaim Safety and Security by repealing soft-on-crime laws, backing our law enforcement, and ensuring sheriffs can work with ICE to stop cartel activity and border-related crime. We will Reclaim our Economy and Energy by passing the Colorado Energy Freedom Act, building small nuclear reactors, responsibly developing our natural resources, cutting wasteful regulations and taxes, and delivering real transparency through a Colorado D.O.G.E. that shows taxpayers exactly where every dollar goes.”
Bottoms continued, “We will audit Medicaid to root out fraud, mandate price transparency in healthcare, protect medical freedom, and expand school choice and workforce apprenticeships so every Coloradan has the opportunity to thrive. We will enact the Open Ledger Act for real-time public budgeting, require balanced budgets without accounting tricks, and put an end to backroom deals and taxpayer-funded lobbying. Colorado’s best days are ahead, and we will get there by putting families, freedom, and fiscal responsibility first.”
The grassroots surge in Pueblo demonstrated the deep desire across Colorado for principled leadership. Bottoms has already held more than 114 campaign events in 55 cities and remains committed to a county-by-county effort to earn every vote.
“Together we are taking our state back,” Bottoms said. “Thank you again to every delegate, volunteer, and supporter who stood with us on Saturday. This is our year. Let’s Reclaim Colorado!”
