Shot Fired During Dog Attack on Rocky Ford Police Officer

Rocky Ford, Colo. – August 27th, 2025 – Rocky Ford Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of South 6th Street on a report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, the first arriving Police Officer approached the residence and was immediately charged by a pit-bull.

The Officer retreated and fired one shot, which missed the dog and struck the ground.

The dog retreated and was uninjured.

The Officer was not injured and there are no reports of anyone else being injured.

The dog’s owner was charged and additional charges are being considered.

All Parties considered innocent of any charges until proven guilty in court.
