In Loving Memory
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Frank Eric Martinez, who entered into rest on August 23, 2025, in Cumberland, Maryland, at the age of 46. Born on June 21, 1979, in Las Animas, Colorado, Frankie was a treasured father, son, brother, uncle, friend, and community member whose warmth and unwavering kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Frankie was the devoted son of Rose and Carmin Martinez and step-father Raymond Lucero of Las Animas. He is survived by his wife, Aude Martinez of Las Animas. His legacy lives on through his children: Dominique (Tanner) Sisneros of Walsh, Colorado; Alyssa (Carlos) Garcia of La Junta, Colorado; Frankie Martinez, Mario (Victoria) Martinez, and Angel Martinez, all of Las Animas, Colorado, step-son Iliaz. He also leaves behind a loving circle of grandchildren: Iyla Sisneros, Liliana Sisneros, Daniel Carlos Jr. Garcia, Sebastian Martinez, Mariana, Lucero, and La Junta, each of whom will continue to honor his legacy of love, strength, and compassion.

Countless nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends also mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carmen Martinez; nieces, RoseAnn Tafoya and Ximena Magana nephew, Christopher Martinez, uncles, Leroy Sanchez, Luis Sanchez, and Tino Sanchez.
Frankie’s life was marked by his limitless generosity, humor, and devotion to family. He was the rock and backbone of his loved ones, always willing to take in relatives during times of need and never hesitated to offer great advice or a well-timed joke to lift the spirits of those around him. Frankie found immense joy in being a father, uncle, and especially in his role as a “mama’s boy,” forever cherished by his mother, Rose.
A gifted cook with a love for sweets, Frankie delighted in sharing his delicious meals and always welcomed others with open arms and a hot plate. He worked as a CNA at Bent County Nursing Home and in local restaurants in Las Animas and La Junta, dedicating himself to the care and comfort of others. His commitment to community and family was further recognized when he was interviewed by the New York Times for his work and inspiring connection with children.
Frankie’s greatest happiness came from moments spent with family and friends—driving around, listening to music, and creating memories that will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. No matter the circumstance, he brought people together and encouraged everyone with his signature phrase: “Don’t Trip.”
Frank Eric Martinez’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and selflessness. His legacy endures in the laughter, wisdom, and kindness he shared—a light that will never dim.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all.
