Obituary

Connie Marez was called home suddenly to be with her Savior on September 4, 2025. She was born to Antonio “Tony” Nolan and Celina Segura-Nolan in Newdale, Colorado. Connie was the oldest of six children and took on the role of a family woman from a very young age, helping to raise her siblings.

She grew up in Swink, Colorado, where she graduated from high school in 1968 and later met her husband, Eugene Marez, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage. She gave birth to four daughters and lovingly raised her sister’s son from the age of two.

Connie was always kindhearted opening her door and providing food for anyone in need. She was a woman of deep faith who found joy in many simple pleasures: watching TV with her husband, singing, dancing, talking on the phone with family, and sharing her knowledge about God.

She worked as a schoolteacher for many years, often going above and beyond to help, including translating for non-English-speaking children and teaching them to speak English. She will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Connie is survived by her husband Eugene Marez and children Margarita “Sally” Nolan, Gabrielle Tallberg, Renee Vigil (Micheal Vigil), Robert Nolan, Gina Marez (Renae Aguilar). Along with her grandchildren, Ashley Salazar (Ryan Salazar), Ivy Marez (Thomas Lopez), Sabrina Mulvaney, Quinten Nolan-Henson, Samantha Marez, Robert Nolan Jr., Patrice Nolan, Bella Vigil, Emiliana Nolan, and two great grandchildren Lola Salazar and Gunner Salazar. Along with her brothers Jerry Nolan, Toby Nolan, Richard Nolan, Tony Nolan, and Danny Nolan and their spouses.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio “Tony” Nolan and Celina Segura-Nolan, her sisters Millie Nolan and Judy Blancett, brother Beo Nolan and her granddaughter Eyane Marez Martinez.

Per Connie’s request, she will be cremated. There will be only a small gathering for her close family, and no funeral will be held.
