Arrest Warrant Leads to Multiple Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Charges

On March 19, 2026, at approximately 0700 hours, deputies executed an arrest warrant and a search warrant in the 600 block of 2nd Street.

During the execution of the warrants, one party was taken into custody and transported to the Bent County Jail.

Clayton Spano was booked on the following charges:

2 counts of • SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A CHILD BY ONE IN A POSITION OF TRUST in violation of 18-3-405.3(1)(2)(a) C.R.S. (F3)

2 counts of • SEXUAL ASSAULT ON A CHILD in violation of 18-3-405(1)(2)(d) C.R.S. (F3)

2 counts of • AGGRAVATED INCEST in violation of 18-6-302(1)(a) C.R.S. (F3)

3 counts of • UNLAWFUL SEXUAL CONTACT in violation of 18-3-404(1)(a)(d)(1.5) C.R.S. (F4)

2 counts of • CHILD ABUSE in violation of 18-6-401(1)(a) C.R.S. (M2)

1 count of • SEXUAL ASSAULT in violation of 18-3-402(1)(a) C.R.S. (F4)

1 count of • DOMESTIC VIOLENCE in violation of 18-6-800.3 C.R.S.

1 count of • SEXUAL EXPLOITATION of CHILDREN in violation of 18-6-403(3)(b) C.R.S. (F3)

Spano is being held at the Bent County Jail on a $150,000.00 Cash Only bond.
